Oak is the ideal wood for smoking meat. If you're new to smoking meat or fish, it's a great place to start.
Oak gives a medium to strong flavour and smoke (depending on how much you add).
Oak wood chips produce smoke quickly and give a good amount of smoke. The chips are small which results in a faster burn compared to a smoke log.
It would be advisable to use a smoker's box or make a foil bag in which to add smoke chips - this will slow down the combustion by reducing oxygen access.
Ideal for use Kamado Joe-s, smoker and BBQ oven or for an extra smoky flavour gas barbecue.
