Southern Dutch BBQ is a joint project between Tom Raes and Dorine van Geffen. This strong tandem started their journey in 2012 with a blog to share their BBQ adventures with the world. A desire to learn all about American barbecue led them to the KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) competition. In 2013, they entered their first competition - and it became a turning point. Since then, they've been caught up in the world of competitive barbecue and participate in competitions all over the world, always striving to provide the best and tastiest selection for judges and their good friends alike.
The desire to get better every day has led Tom and Dorine to be mentored by some of the best BBQ masters in the USA, such as Tuffy Stone and Travis Clark.
Their mission today is to live and breathe BBQ every day, bringing their passion and knowledge to anyone who is interested in the culture, the sport or just great food. Barbecue and competing is not just a hobby for them - it's a lifestyle. BBQ has taken them to places they would never otherwise go and created lifelong friendships.
